Kay W. Ray

Kay W. Ray, a dedicated artist and teacher, received a BS in Art Education from Hofstra University, studied at Bennington College for Print Making, Stony Brook University, and many private workshops.

I have exhibited both nationwide and locally including the Cork Gallery, Lincoln Center, Prince Street Gallery, B.J. Spoke Gallery, Gallery 52, Culinary Institute (Hyde Park), Women’s Resource Center and various other museums, galleries and libraries.

With the goal of pursuing a strong personal aesthetic as well as focusing on formal and technical skills, my work is a juxtaposition of realism and abstraction, while my technique contains strong graphic impact. I explore forms and images using line, shape, design and texture. I work in collage, mixed media, inks and a variety of paint.

I was Past President and presently an active member of National League of American Pen Women, member of Tri County Artist of Long Island, Art League of Nassau County, Women’s Caucus of the Art, Long Beach Art League and Kappa Pi (Honorary Art Society). My works are included in many private and corporate collections.
